COGS to Host Atlantic Canada Coastal and Estuarine Science Society (ACCESS)

COGS will host the Atlantic Canada Coastal and Estuarine Science Society (ACCESS) meeting May 9-11. There will be a special session on Advanced Mapping Techniques for the Coastal Zone on the morning of Friday, May 10. Dr. John Brock from the United states Geological Survey in Reszton Virginia will give the keynote address at 8:45 AM on Fri. “Establishing the USA Coastal National Elevation Dataset for Science and Resource Management”. There will be two full days of talks and over 20 poster displays. The banquet will be held at COGS Friday night with Guest Speaker Dr. Raul Uguarte of Acadian Seaplants who will speak on "Sustainable Marine Resource Harvesting". A field trip is offered Saturday after the talks conclude that will visit Acadian Seaplants research facility at their seaweed processing plant in Cornwallis on the Annapolis Basin where Dr. Alan Critchley, Vice President in charge of Research will host the participants.
