Nova Scotia Solar Resource Maps
July Solar Comparison
David Colville (AGRG), Wayne Reiger (AGRG), Steven Bird (AGRG)
These solar resource maps for the Province of Nova Scotia, Canada, shows solar energy incident on a horizontal surface (KWh/m²) for the month of July for the 2007, 2008 and 2009 calendar years. The solar resource was calculated based on NASA's Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) images that record cloud cover over a portion of the Earth's surface every half hour at a spatial resolution of one square kilometre. This map is a result of processing over 740 GOES images for the month of July. The solar resource is overlaid transparently on a shaded relief of the Province of Nova Scotia.
